Family Planning

About the Family Planning Program

The Family Planning Program offers preventative health services to men and women during their child-bearing years. Preconceptual health information and physical exams are provided to both men and women planning a pregnancy, as well as those patients who may desire a method of birth control to prevent a pregnancy. Birth control methods are dispensed on site, by referral or prescription. Multiple Vitamins with Folic Acid are given to all our patients in an effort to help reduce the occurrence of certain birth defects.

The family planning services also include in depth counseling about the chosen method of birth control, referral for  immunization updates as recommended by the North Carolina Immunization Branch, STD screenings, pap tests, and referral for mammograms for women 50 years and older.

Minors

Minors (young men and women under the age of 18) are welcome to the Family Planning Program and may be seen without a parent, but parental involvement is encouraged. College students are also welcome.
